Ideas of II All-Russian Forum of Development Institutions began to be implemented in practice

Interest in the second Forum of development institutions, held in Yekaterinburg April 2-3, has grown significantly – the forum was attended by about 1,000 people from 60 regions of Russia. Among them – the regional leaders, corporate leaders and development agencies authorized to protect the rights of entrepreneurs, representatives of the business community and representatives of federal development institutions. Forum has gained international importance: there were foreign experts and international companies participating in the event.

«II All-Russian Forum of Development Institutions will push new entrepreneurial initiative. We aim at further development of structures to support entrepreneurship in the municipalities. The main outcome of the forum should be attracting investment, and as a result, improving the quality of life of the people,”- said the governor of Sverdlovsk region Yevgeny Kuyvashev.

Over the two days of the forum twelve round tables and master classes have been held during which participants focused on the difficulties associated with development institutions and coordination of their actions with each other. In Russia, a system development institutions already exists – there are more than 60 such institutions in the country.

“There should be a clear mechanism for investors – all authorities including municipalities should be involved in its development” – said the Minister of Regional Development Igor Slyunyaev. He also drew attention to the fact that the Second Forum of international development institutions became more international, expanded its geography as well as increased the number of participants.

The results of the first forum were very practical and concrete varying from the creation of the association of development institutions to the creation of a federal agency. Second All-Russian forum of development institutions already claim to have even greater achievements: it made ​​a serious contribution to the system of state support and public-private partnerships, the development of industrial parks and technology parks, attracting foreign direct investment.

“The main value of this forum is that it will help attract investments to our country. This year’s Forum has launched a new phase of cooperation between regional investment agencies – they have realized that they do need not compete with each other but they are actually partners and should work hard together in order to improve the structure for attracting investments and to coordinate activities with each other”, – said the Executive Director of the National Investment Agency “Invest in Russia” Yury Voicehovsky.
