The Russian Investment Agency made a presentation “Invest in Russia” at the international exhibition MÜSİAD in Istanbul
On November 27, 2014, on the eve of the official visit of the Russian President Vladimir Putin to Turkey, the Russian Investment Agency (RIA) made a presentation of the investment potential of Russian regions in the framework of the 15th International Fair of free associations of industrialists and businessmen MÜSİAD. MÜSİAD-2014 exhibition held in Istanbul on 25-30 November 2014 is one of the largest fairs in the region. It is attended by more than 500 companies, 7 000 foreign businessmen from 102 countries, 200 000 visitors. The welcoming speech at the opening ceremony was made by the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The Russian delegation, organized by the Agency, included the Governor of Volgograd Region Andrei Bocharov, Deputy Governor of the Kaluga region Vladimir Potemkin, heads of regional development institutions. The Chief Executive Officer of the Russian Investment Agency Yury Voicehovsky made a plenary report at the session. Investment opportunities of Volgograd, Kaluga, Bashkortostan and Tatarstan were presented by the representatives of these regions.
The delegation of the Agency takes part in the business program and conducts a series of bilateral meetings with investors and large Turkish companies. Also the CEO of RIA Yury Voicehovsky held talks with the Head of the Turkish investment agency ISPAT Mr. Ilker Ayzhi, during which they discussed further steps aimed at increasing investment cooperation between Turkey and Russia. A number of visits of Turkish business delegations to the subjects of the Russian Federation has been planned.
The visit of the Russian President Vladimir Putin to Turkey is planned for December 1, 2014. The President will participate in the fifth meeting of the High Level Cooperation Council (HLCC), which will discuss the issues of Russian-Turkish cooperation. The Turkish Investment Agency ISPAT is also involved in the preparation of the visit from the Turkish side.
The Russian Investment Agency was established in December 2013 in collaboration with the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA). The name was registered in the Russian Ministry of Justice in accordance with the request of the Head of the Government of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev. The main task of the Agency is to increase the inflow of foreign investments to the Russian Federation. The Agency established the Association of Regional Investment Agencies, which included as its members the investment promotion agencies and development corporations of the subjects of the Russian Federation.
