As part of the exhibition “MIPIM – 2014” the Deputy Minister of Regional Development Svetlana Ivanova met with representatives of French companies.
During commercial real estate exhibition “MIPIM – 2014” opened in Cannes (France) on March 11 the Head of the Russian delegation the Deputy Minister of Regional Development Svetlana Ivanova had a meeting with representatives of French companies.
The Russian delegation was represented by the Director of the Department of non-budgetary investment projects Marina Shilkina, CEO of the National Investment Agency “Invest in Russia” Yury Voicehovsky, Head of Investment Promotion Agency of the Republic of Tatarstan Linar Yakupov, Deputy Chairman of the Government of Stavropol Region Andrey Murga, Acting Trade Representative of Russia in France Mikhail Safronov. From the French side the meeting was attended by representatives of “GDF Suez”, “Alstom”, Corporation “National Society of French Railways”, ” Vinci ” “Decathlon” , architectural bureau “Wilmot”, “Gryumbak”, “AERP”, “Company on arrangement of the Var valley (Nice), State export Development agency “Yubifrans “. Ministry of Foreign Trade of France was represented by a senior official responsible for export development program in France “Improving living conditions in the urban environment ” Michelle Pappalardo .
According to the company “Decathlon”, currently in Russia there are 16 sports stores of the chain (2 % of turnover), and starting from 2015 it is planned to open 20 new stores per annum. It was agreed to hold the meetings in the Ministry of Regional Development of Russia aimed at discussing the development of chain stores. Andrey Murga welcomed the implementation of this investment project in the Stavropol region.
During the meeting the sides discussed prospects of cooperation in the field of engineering of transport facilities. Representatives of the company “AERP” have expressed interest in the reconstruction of railway stations, ports and airports in Central Russia and in the North Caucasus, the construction of high-speed railway from Moscow to Kazan.
It was also pointed out that the investment attractiveness of Kazan had significantly increased, especially in the context of the upcoming FIFA World Cup. According to Linar Yakupov, the city of Kazan is “100% ready”.
During the meeting the attention was paid to energy efficiency. Representatives of energy companies indicated their readiness to develop projects aimed at improving energy efficiency in production industry, construction, housing and communal services. The sides also discussed such topics as urban infrastructure engineering, architecture and construction.
By the beginning of 2014 the volume of accumulated French investments in the Russian economy amounted to more than U.S. $ 13 billion. France is one of the eighth largest countries – investors in Russia. At the same time, despite the economic crisis and the decline in global growth rates in 2013, investments grew by 6% compared with those in 2012, which indicates a high level of confidence of French investors.
