The talks between the leaders of the Agency for Export Promotion “APEX Brazil”, Russian Investment Agency (RIA) and the National Investment Company (NIC)
Within the framework of the official visit of delegation of the Federative Republic of Brazil to Russia headed by the Vice-President Michel Temer, on 14 September the negotiations between the leaders of the Agency for Export Promotion «APEX Brazil», Russian Investment Agency (RIA) and the National Investment Company (NIC) took place. At a meeting with the delegation of «APEX Brazil» headed by the President David Barioni Yury Voicehovsky and Kirill Amelkovich discussed further steps to expand investment cooperation between the two countries.
In particular, they discussed specialized investment vehicles generated by NIC which involve both Russian and foreign institutional investors. Yury said that currently NIC is forming two investment funds amounted to 800 million US dollars, with a focus on agriculture and real estate.
Mr. Barioni noted that Russia is a strategic trade partner of Brazil and local companies are interested in developing further cooperation with Russia, in particular in the fields of agriculture, innovation, pharmaceuticals and infrastructure. The proposed mechanism of specialized investment funds, in which Russian investors participate, is an additional tool that reduces risks of entering a new market for Brazilian companies.
Following the talks, the sides agreed to sign a cooperation agreement, one of the tasks of which will be that to organize and conduct the business mission of Brazilian companies in Russia.
Also on September 15, Yury Voicehovsky took part in the Russian-Brazilian Business Forum, where he held a number of meetings with Brazilian companies.
